Women's History Month Reading Group: 'All Our Yesterdays' by Natalia Ginzberg

Women's History Month Reading Group: 'All Our Yesterdays' by Natalia Ginzberg In-Person

As part of our Reading for Diversity series the Library are teaming up with BookSoc to read and discuss All Our Yesterdays by Natalia Ginzburg, a book selected by students in honour of March’s Women’s History Month.

Translated from its original Italian and with an introduction by best selling author Sally Rooney, Italian author Natalia Ginzburg tells the story of sixteen- year -old Anna, who becoming pregnant after a brief romance, marries an eccentric older family friend to save her reputation. Set in Italy against the backdrop of the Second World War, we follow Anna’s life as she navigates her new circumstances in the shadow of fascism and invasion.

‘It was as if her writing was a very important secret that I had been waiting all my life to discover . . her words seemed to express something completely true about my experience of living, and about life.’ Sally Rooney

The Library has provided digital and print copies of the book and it is also available to purchase from most major book retailers. Book Soc also has a limited number of print copies available.

The discussion group will be held in the Digital Commons on Level 1 of the Information Commons.
