Using AI and GenAI for information searching [Face-to-Face] In-Person

This workshop will explore how AI and GenAI can be used to troubleshoot and enhance academic information search strategies. You will have the opportunity to create your own search strategy and develop it further using Google Gemini. We will also explore AI-powered functionality in academic databases. You will consider the limitations of Gen AI chatbots for finding information, recognising the importance of critical evaluation of AI-generated suggestions and the value of established approaches to finding academic information.

This session is part of a GenAI themed afternoon at the Information Commons. You may also be interested in attending our Critical GenAI literacy workshop.  There will be a break between the sessions to enjoy refreshments and explore the Digital Commons including the 3D printing room, VR headsets, and sewing room. Feel free to come for the refreshments whether you are attending both sessions or just one.
