Introduction to 3D Design for 3D Printing
3D design has provided advancements in industries such as entertainment, healthcare, engineering and 3D printing.
3D printers take a digital 3D model and are able to print this model in physical space. If you are interested in learning how to create a 3D model using 3D design software and have never used 3D design software, or you have never 3D designed an object to be 3D printed, then this workshop is perfect for you.
Through our Introduction to 3D Design workshop you will learn the fundamentals of 3D design by gaining practical experience with the the browser-based application TinkerCAD. You will create a personalised bookmark which will be 3D printed at a later date for you to collect.
You will learn:
- The different types of 3D design software and their uses in different industries
- How to navigate a 3D workspace
- How to create and adjust 3D objects
- How to export a 3D object
Requirements:
You will need a laptop and mouse but both can be provided for you if you are not able to bring them to the session.
